SUMMER 2026 EXHIBIT
landmarks of richmond county
From June 20 to August 23, 2026 inclusively.
The vibrant past of Richmond County is reflected in its landmarks — scattered along old roads and main streets, resting on the banks of the Saint-François River, and perched atop rolling hills. We are fortunate to have these beacons of history still standing among us! This exhibit showcases a selection of these landmarks, illustrating the rich history and fascinating stories of the people of this area.
Discover the forces that shaped our region through the lens of lasting landmarks and the stories that created them. From early education and faith communities to travel, trade, and architecture, each site featured in this year’s exhibit offers a unique window into the lives of those who called this area home. Learn about the people, events, and social currents that left their mark on some of the area’s most enduring buildings and structures.
Explore the stories behind:
- St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church
- Mackenzie Bridge
- St. Francis School
- Holy Trinity Anglican Church
- Richmond’s Historic Railway Bridge
- Beechmore Manor
These landmarks serve not only as physical reminders of our past, but as living threads that connect generations.
